In handguns it's a toss up between 45acp & 44 Mag. Colt & Les Baer make a pretty nice 1911 and S&W has made a lot of nice 29/629's.
In rifles it might be 270, but there's so many I like it's hard to say.

Why was my post deleted on this thread? I know it was a slight drift in topic, but my question was quickly answered, and I felt that I had not done or said anything out of the way. If I did, please accept my apologies, but I would appreciate an explanation.

Favorite... hmmm..

For me, I don't really have a favorite, they're all "special"
Sort of like asking a mother which of her children is her favorite.

As far as caliber goes, I guess it depends on its use.. home defense vs. plinking or target shooting. The way ammo prices and supplies are going, I'm thinking of sticking with .22 for a while. I've had a model 41 for a few years but recently picked up a pre-war Outdoorsman. I find I like this new revolver a lot better than the semi-auto.
