At least someone did look at the E mial I sent. Just how long ago was this settled anyway. lol

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns over Department of Defense (DOD) policy for the resale of small arms cartridge cases. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.
As you may know, the DOD issued policy prohibiting the sale of military items controlled by the Department of State through its Munitions List, of which small arms cartridge cases are a part.
However, upon further review of the policy, it was determined the cartridge cases could be released for sale. If this directive had not been repealed, it may have had a significant impact on the domestic civilian supply of ammunition by decreasing the supply of small arms cartridge cases.
Please be sure, I am committed to protecting the American citizen's Second Amendment right to bear arms. I believe that while we must protect American lives, we must also defend the fundamental liberties that define our American way of life.
Rest assured, I will continue to monitor this issue and will keep your thoughts in mind should it come before me in the Senate.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with me. Please feel free to contact me in the future about anything important to you or your family. It is an honor to serve you and the people of South Carolina.
Sincerely,
Jim DeMint
United States Senator
