Default Fly's the pesty kind not the fishing kind

We have had flies buzzing around our back door the past 3 or 4 summers. I think they are midge flies. Anyone have any proven or rumored ways to get rid of these things? You look like your practicing karate when you try to come in the back door but they still manage to sneak in. Nothing makes our one cat happier then tracking these pests down and killing them, but then the fool eats them and pukes so Linda said post it and see if any of your fellow forum members have the answer. Thanks Larry

Yes, take plastic zip lock bags, like sandwich bags or larger, fill them with water, and hang or staple them (thru the top part above the zipper) over and around your back door. You will only feel foolish until you realize that it works!
