WWII Transcription of Japanese Officer Notes
A couple of weeks ago I was clearing out 40 years of accumulated "stuff" at the family home and found an interesting artifact from my dad's service in the navy in WWII. Attached is a typed transcription from the diary of the last days of a Japanese officer. (note: the transcription repeats one paragraph)
The transcription was typed on onion skin paper which made it difficult to scan.

Reminds me of the movie Letters from Iwo Jima.

Doesn't matter to the guy on the ground which side he is on,both experience the same things. Bet the naval gunfire was mind numbing from the big guns.

Currently (re)watching "The Pacific" on Amazon Prime.
I knew the author of this when I was a kid, but not the extent of his service. He was in it from start to finish.
