Default People on terrorist watch list buying guns?

The CNN question of the day, should people on the watch list be allowed to buy guns? Only 11 percent said yes. Don't people realize that people on the watch list usually don't even know they are on the list? And that you have no opportunity to defend yourself about being on the list? And that the right to own guns is guaranteed in our Bill of Rights? And that such a right cannot be taken away without very good cause?

Like most gubberment run things, it's rife with mistakes and errors. On the surface, most will think it's a great idea although most people that should be included in the list get their guns, etc. illegally. When the gubberment tries to second guess who's who, we're a few notches closer to Geo. Orwell's 1984. My .02 pesos.

Hey, according to Napolitano and the DHS, we are all right wing extremists, even those brave men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, where they were willing to die for this country. Anyone who dares to disagree with the current administration and it's policies are "suspect", and on some kind of "list". These are truly scary and sad times we are living in.

The terrorist watch list is not a valid reason to deny a US citizen of any constitutiional right. There is no due process associated with inclusion on the TW list.

Just try to find out who is on the list, or what qualifies a citizen to be included on the list. You can't get this information as it is a state secret.

Odds are there are several folks on this forum that are on the TW list right now and don't know it.

Unless and untill people are convicted of a crime that disqualifies firearms ownership, they have a right to keep and bear arms.

Wouldn't surprise me if all of us on this site are on the list!

Hmm, be interesting see what happens when the first regular Joe person comes back denied on the nics check because they are on the "terrorist watch list". What a mess that would be to try and straighten out. Probably near impossible to get a name off that list once it gets on there.

Their list reminds me of the FBI "Commie" back in the Cold War. That should have told us it doesn't take much to get on a Government right or wrong.

I know that the Government is watching this website. I know they have identified each and everyone of us as subversives. I know they have placed secret electronic devices in my pillow to capture my dreams. I want the Government to know that jag312 is not my real name. and I want them to include my real name on the No Fly/No Guns List. I am revealing my true identity as a patriotic duty. Some people think my real name is Carl LaFong (capital L, small a, capital F, small o, small n, small g), but my real name is....Winston Magnolia. That's the name to put on the No Fly/No Guns List.

Frankly, I'd be more alarmed if someone on the watchlist wanted to learn how to fly a jumbo jet (but not bother with the take-off and landing parts)... oh, wait a minute we already lost that battle... better try something easier.

The Israelis told us (years ago) to quit looking for weapons and start looking for terrorists, but that would require profiling and we all know "profiling is wrong".

It kinda reminds me the story of a burglar hiding in a large building (with eight separate exits). The police show up, but the sergeant only has four patrol officers. Being a good sergeant (who knows how to count), he knows he can't cover every door successfully. He looks around and lo and behold the building next door only has four exits so he moves his people next door and covers every exit.

I'm not anti-government but I do think we oughta focus on what has the greatest liklihood of success (winning this war).

You mean the Childrens' News Network actually ran a story that didn't have something to do with children?

Ooops! That smarmy comment probably just added my name to the list.

mississippi revolverman has it right.

yeah well there is more than one way to get a gun, and when I can't get a gun because some selfjustified 'politiain' says I can't then I will go to Plan B, because when SHTF it's 'outlaws' that save the day, hence the american revolution
