How many of us would make that statement today?

People tend to mostly remember that speech, but it's also worth remembering that Patrick Henry played a prominent role in securing the addition of the Bill of the Rights to the Constitution thanks to his activity with the Anti-Federalists.

It saddens me beyond explanation to realize that only a pitiful few remain
who would stand with Mr. Henry and sincerely announce these words for the
world to hear.

"Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-- but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle?..."

Okay, that's enough right there to get him arrested for hate-blogging.

I've been watching the "John Adams" dvd's that Eric karma'd me...and there is little doubt that three quarters of our Founding Fathers would nowadays be held as domestic terrorists.
