Default Is there a fee for shipping...

small arms ammunition? I shipped some stuff out to NY a few weeks back and forgot to ask if there was a fee involved. The reason I ask is I have 100 primed 454 cases that I just removed the bullet and powder from. I want to sell the cases as I don't have a 454. If there's a fee involved then I will just put them in my 45 colt and fire the primers out.

Thanks,
Bill

Shipping UPS Ground, with the ORM D label, there should be no additional charge for small arms ammuntion, at least I never have paid any extra fee. Now, if you try to ship primers by themselves, they are considered HazMat and there is all kinds of requirements, fees and rules that have to be met.

Primed brass should ship as ammunition and shouldn't incur additional fees. I owuld ship them in ammo boxes, though, not loose and flopping around !!

"I will just put them in my 45 colt "

I believe they will be too long to chamber in a .45 Colt cylinder.

Gil, with a little touch of the crimp die they will properly seat in the cylinder. If they are not crimped at all the will not make the cut. The loaded rounds go all the way in and do not stick out to far because they are crimped just to the area where the step in the cylinder is.
