Default Bathroom Tribulations

Dont post much but had to share the latest news bulletin I heard this morning on the radio. Woman was shot while useing a public bathroom. She received a gun shot wound by a woman in the next stall, as the woman attempted to sit down, her hand gun was dropped from its holster and discharged, shooting the woman next to her. Fortunately it was only a leg wound. Thats what I call, having a bad day.

I'll bet there's some future problems that will require a lawsuit. i.e. hearing loss. That had to be loud. We all know its the guns fault.

I call some BS on the story.

Everyone knows that women don't "sit down" in public rest rooms.

Actually, it might be, if the gun discharged from being dropped. Some guns will do that. Myself, I don't believe that that was the case here, because most guns won't discharge when dropped, but many people will lie when they screw up, like trying to catch a gun when they drop it, and catching it by the trigger.

Most "I dropped it and it went off" stories are BS, made up by a person who dangerously mishandled a firearm causing it to fire.

Actually, JayCeeNC is correct. i was trying too hard to give the offender the benefit of an unreasonable doubt.

This happened locally. No one has said what kind of gun, yet. But the police spokesperson said it was a "little" gun in an open top holster with no safety strap.

Most guns, including Glocks, won't fire when dropped. But there are some guns that will. The shooter was attending some medical seminar, gave first aid to the wounded woman, then went back to her seminar when the cops/paramedics got there.

that sounds like a snubby or a sub compact and she must have had a really worn holster or an inappropriate fit holster for it to just fall out like that, my guess is she took it out of the holster so it wouldn't touch the dirty floor, it slipped out of her hand, she freaked out because she didn't want anyone to see her gun on the floor, made a bad grab and BANG the lady next door has a piercing she didn't want.
