The 'ultimate' Diamondback Dick thread.
Hello folks . Allen Frame here. I have just had my first deal with Diamondback Dick.
I am distressed to learn he is fighting a serious health battle.
I won't say what it is , it's not important just what it is, only that we help him feel better.
I am dedicating this thread to Dick and his recovery.
Well wishes are o.k. but I'd like to see more. Pictures, stories. Personal stuff.
Odd and fascinating.
Something that when he, or anyone for that matter, opens this thread ,theyll be blown away.
Help me out here. Bring your BEST to this thread. And say a prayer for Diamondback Dicks recovery.
God bless you all, Allen-Frame

Dick is a stand-up guy. Character, which is in short supply these days. We had a little get together about a month ago. For show and tell, he brought a half-dozen of the nicest, rarest Colt Diamondbacks. Passing them around in the parking lot of the Golden Corral was a singularly magnificent moment. Feel better amigo, need to see you at the LRPC show in September. Joe

Thank you.
I sit here at the keyboard with a tear in my eye and I am truly humbled and I thank you Allen for caring.
I hadn't really intended this to leak out, but it did in my ramblings on my For Sale ad in the classifieds and I certainly don't mean to "cry on anyones shoulder". It's been a good long run with no regrets.
The "ultimate" thread ought to go to all of YOU for all you have done and all I have learned on this forum. When I came on this forum six years ago before this damned Leukemia, I thought I knew a lot about guns and soon found out I knew quite little after I began to learn from all of you, the experts.
Somedays when I can't get any farther than from my bed to this keyboard I am so truly appeciative of this forum for it is most days the highlight of my day and on some days it is the only communication I have with the outside world, truly a blessing. I miss the gunshows and the range the most. I will continue to fight and hope to beat this dreaded thing and hold onto my beloved Smiths and Colts for as long as I can.
The thong and Glock has already brought a big smile to my face.....I thank you all.

Dick,
You're one of the guys whose posts I make sure to read when I'm scanning a long thread and not trying to grab every word by every poster. You are a valued contributor to the forum in the opinion of this tired old brain. Your information and insights help me keep thinking I can still learn stuff and, more importantly, need to.
Good thoughts going your way from me. Lots of them.
David

Hey Diamondback, Don't know what to say. Just hang in there, modern medicine can do a lot these days.
I do know that you were one of the first to welcome me and respond with some friendly advice when I first joined this forum. And I thank you for that.
You will be in my prayers.
Take care, Minuteman

Diamondback, I do not know you, but I always read your posts. You are always insightful and to the point, a trait that is seldom seen on internet sites.
In life, the sun does not always shine where you want it to shine, but that does not mean the sun has stopped shining. It is up to you to allow the sun to shine in those hard to access areas. If you do, you brighten up your life and the lives of others as well.
I think ole Hank has the right idea, he had to work at it, but he found a way. Take advantage of the light and you will never be in the dark.
Take care, be strong, and may the light shine on you.

DB68,
I too am among those who always open up your posts with anticipation and am never disappointed with what I find.
The subject matter, your insights, and humor, are a true asset to all here.
I join the rest in praying for your recovery and the strength to deal with things as the come along.
As Ol Iggy would put it, "Hang in there Podner!"
Regards,
Chip

Thanks Iggy.
Once again I am so thankful and humbled.
As an update, my numbers keep slowly creeping downward, the Docs keep pumping me back up and I keep fighting on a daily basis and try to hang in there as best I can.
Through no fault of my own, I am simply too damn old for a Stem Cell or Bone Marrow Transplant and must therefore live with what I have.
This forum is the first thing I log onto in the morning and the last thing I shut off of at night. Your stories of guns, your pictures, your knowledge, your wit and humor are what helps keep me going and I THANK YOU! That about says it all.

Which reminds me of a true story. At the Thanksgiving 2010 Orlando show, I ran out of money. I mean down to pocket change. After buying guns all morning, a guy says "you can have all the factory .38spl I have for $5/box50". So I call Dick who is half way to Lake Okeechobee and regale him with my tale of woe. All he says, seriously, "Do you need me to come back and give you gas money." Where do you find a guy like that. Joe

Diamondback ... If this is the last post you read this eve, prayers and well wishes to you. If this is the first post you read in the morn, more prayers and well wishes to you for a new day.
A man's character is measured by how he deals with adversity.

Sir, I certainly will include you in my daily prayers. I do not personally know you but really enjoy your posts. I've only been a member since November of last year but have made so many good friends and contacts in such a short time i feel i know of what you speak. Here is a picture of my one and only Colt so far. A Diamonback 4" born in 1976 i believe. Every time i look at it i'll be sending a prayer your way.
Best Regards, Chuck

What a nice thread. Although I have never met you, it certainly appears that many on this forum hold you in high regard and that is good enough for me. It is wonderful to see so many expressions of well wishes and faith. This forum seems to have the nicest group of helpful, caring and thoughtful people around. My best wishes and prayers to you sir.
