Unhappy Border Patrol Agent murdered

I've been a little sporadic reading and posting this week due to one of our own being murdered by smugglers one week ago tonight. Still don't know all the detail and not free to share most of what I do know. I am sure most of y'all have read it in the paper or seen it on the evening news by now. Agent Rosas will be buried tomorrow, please keep his wife and two young children in your thoughts.

The FBI and all of the investigators are working leads and trying to identify who exactly pulled the trigger. The unfortunate side of this investigation is that a bunch of the suspects and witnesses made it south. That means extradition and to extradite the death penalty is off the table .

This murder took place in the area covered by the next station east of mine, in fact the scene is less than a mile from our shared area border, probably some of the same smugglers we deal with. I will not be attending the funeral saving room for the agents who knew and worked with him, instead I will be filling in in their area of responsibilty.

The Texican in me knows exactly how I plan to start my shift, it'll probably irritate a few folks but what the hey. I plan to blast Deguello over the public address system, that oughta rattle a cage or two. Since their national history shares a slice of ours I figure that will set the mood for the day.

Yeah, I saw this earlier. Jorge Busho couldn't have given a rat's **** about our border agents. The mighty Zero certainly won't.

I don't know why Border Patrol even tries to do the job. The govt could care less.

for what its worth I say pull the troops out of the middle east, just let them blow each other up, put the troops on the border, with orders of shoot to kill if caught

Agent Rosas was interred early this afternoon with a huge ceremny from all accounts I've read this evening. Not much solace for the his wife and kids though. All of us who stayed behind to work were part of the ceremony though, when near the end Dispatch puts out the final safety check. Pretty much chokes me up every time I hear it.

Deguello was blasted as loud as I could make the system go. I know it was heard well into Mexico. Several other agents who were close enough to hear came over and suggested I just drive the border road and keep it playing. Would have loved to but I was working in a sedan today. I don't know if it had any effect (it was really quiet in both of the AORs) but it made me feel mighty good.

Nuff said.

Thanks for what you do and for the fact that you make others realize that this is on a personal level. Lots of folks forget that...and we all need to be reminded of the sacrifice that you and your compardre's put out on the line ~ for us all....

Be careful out the MKT and my condolences to the family.

I hope the worthless animal that did this has his own coming.
