It is for me. How high? They are target-sighted guns so I expect them to shoot dead-center with a 6-o'clock hold (if that makes any sense
) - generally around 2.5" high at 25-yards.
I have had a couple long-barreled 29s over the years that shot so high I could not use them, and it is common for me with the 4-inchers. Overall, I have always had the best luck with 6.5-inch guns. Can't speak for the more modern models as I have limited experience with them.
My experience is that if you want a 29 to print right on top of the front sight, you had better be planning on installing the lowest rear blade (.126 height), and maybe pinning in a taller front sight.
