Shooting the moon....
With a camera, that is!
I've always been interested in capturing images of the moon and thought I'd share my latest effort with the forum.
Anyone else taking moon shots they want to share

Wow! What a great shot--is it recent? It's been so foggy here the last few weeks I don't think I've seen the moon since June! What's your setup?

The usual rule is to use The Sunny 16 Rule and then stop down a stop or two. With digital it should be easy to check it out.

Try using color film next time-it might come out better

Outstanding. Would appreciate the technical details, camera, lens, exposure, tripod, any tracking mechanism. etc.

Thanks all for the comments & compliments
For those that asked, the details are as follows:
Nikon D300 camera, Nikon 300mm f4 AF lens with Nikon TC-200 2X Teleconverter, all mounted on a cheap tripod, triggered with a cable/remote release. Focus was manual due the the teleconverter; I used the live view zoom feature to get it focused right. All shot in RAW format and converted/processed with Photoshop Elements.
For the shot in the first post, ISO 400, lens set to f5.6 (resulting in an effective f11 due to the teleconverter), 1/320 second exposure.
Here is another one, same set up. ISO 400, lens set to f8 (resulting in an effective f16 due to the teleconverter), 1/200 second exposure. The exposure on these was pretty much the same but I lightened this one up a bit in post processing.
