I've heard so much about "shovel ready" projects that are going to put Americans back to work.
I ask, where is the last time that you saw an "American" on the business end of a shovel?
Earlier this week I stopped at a new home construction site near my house... they were digging and pouring a lot of concrete. There were sixteen people at the site. Two white, fourteen Hispanic that spoke no English.
The county that I'm in has a substantial percentage of "other minorities" and unemployment ahead of the national.
However, I don't see "shovel" ready projects doing anything besides sending more dollars south of the border.
