Default So when do fawns lose their spots

Noticed this picture on my camera this morning, the date and time stamp is correct. I thought by now that fawns had all lost their spots. I am wondering how late of a drop these two were.

Here in North Dakota, I see spotted fawns often during early bow season which opens the first friday of September. Pretty much never see one with spots by the time October rolls around.

With the long warm season, TX and OK get some very late drops. I saw one spotted fawn that field dressed 28# brought out of an October controlled hunt. The hunter was ribbed unmercifully about his "sandwich sized" deer.

The white-tail fawns in my backyard (Paradise Valley Montana) still have their spots. Chop

Hopefully with a tin of brown shoe polish before you bring them out of the woods

I haven't any spots on the deer around here for awhile now. Last week on our way into town we did see two very small Antelope. I thought it odd to see two so small at this time of year.

This spring we seen a baby antelope being born behind our house. It was quite cool to see the whole process. Momma Antelope was lying down and at first we didn't think much of it. Then we seen a little movement just to her side and I went and got the binoculars out. Within a few minutes baby was standing but wobbly, a couple of more minutes he was walking and within 15 minutes of being born he was off and running. Very amazing to see the whole thing.
