Default Lake Fog at Sunrise Pictures - Added Buffalo River Pictures

Seeing some of the beautiful nature pics lately made me think of these. All taken by a point and shoot digcam just as/after the sunrise. Location is Cove Lake in Arkansas near Mt. Magazine.

The second pic is my fav...

And a fuzzy pic of me having a morning cup of joe...

The ole "one pic to many" syndrome. Yepper, those are sweats except they were "I'm lazy, want to be warm and comfortable, who cares what I look like, do you think I'm sexy" sweats. Makes a difference, you know...

But in my defense, near perfect picture thread, 4 nice pics to admire and one dorky one for y'all to make fun of!

Nice shooting. Wish we would get some good photos ops around here. We do occasionally get a good sunset if the correct amount of smog from the LA area blows up here.

Fortunately I live within a half day's drive of NWA and the Ozarks. Lots of good nature opportunities there. Like floating and camping on the Buffalo River.

Beautiful pictures of home for me - I grew up in Fayetteville. One of these days I'll move back there.

Very good pictures. Over the years we have spent a month at a time (six times) in the fall on Bull Shoals lake. Have made side trips to the Buffalo River and just sitting and looking at it, the gravel bars and the rock cliffs is just plain is good for the soul. NW Arkansas is a very nice place.

Agreed, NWA is just great. I try and take an October trip ever year and hopeto hit the trees turning.

We float the Buffalo for 3 days/3 nights typically. Camp on the gravel bars. Nothing like dutch oven biscuits and coffee in the morning on the river. We do 4-5 miles a day. Nice and slow, like one of my canoeing buddies says, "It's not a race".

Nice pics.

I love the Buffalo River and have been there several time to camp and canoe. As a youger man we used to do Ponca to Pruitt and Yelville to the point. Please forgive me if I spelled the names wrong, it's been a while.

The skunks at the Park campground are fearless.

I like the 2nd & 4th also. Makes me want to go camping or hiking. Here's a photo from my vacation at Hilton Head SC.

Yepper, the old buffalo plaid is a dual layer fleece. Great for those cooler mornings. And you're right, nothing like a cup of joe on a cool morning by the campfire. Coffee cup was my Dad's that he tried to buy from the local diner cause he liked it so much. It's retired now....

Camped many years at Buffalo Point as a kid. We go as far up river as we have floatable water, further up, the better.

10-4 on that VM. We always check what the weather is/has been up river when we do this. My brother was "caught" earlier this year. 2 inches of rain upstream and the river rose 6 foot vertically where they were. It was not a good thing to say the least....

Nice pictures.

Memories . . . back in the '70's, before the Buffalo River was a national park, my dad and I floated it for 6 days/nights. One of the best trips I ever went on with my dad. We caught several stringers of smallmouth bass and at night we would gig for frogs and fish for catfish in the deeper pools.

I still go to the Buffalo several times a summer, I took my 12 year old son and his border collie canoeing just a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful country.
