Smile FFL Fees

Good Morning, All:
Transfer of Firearms by a FFL on a trade with two private indiviuals - Sending the Firearm to another FFL in separate States is one (1) fee and receiving a Firearm from the same out of State FFL is a second fee?
Am I understanding the process correctly?
Thanks,
Jimmy

Your charges should be the shipping charges to ship your gun and the fees that your local FFL charges to receive a gun for you. You should not be responsible for any fees that your tradig partner incurs.

Like he said, unless agreed upon otherwise, the consignee or reciever of the firearm pays the transfer fee to his FFL.
If you are shipping one (by the way, you can ship it yourself. You do not need an FFL to do it for you), whomever you shipped it to, care of their FFL, will pay to have it transferred.
If you are receiving one, you'll have to pay your FFL for the transfer.
AND, if his FFL requires that it only ship from an FFL (which is not required by law), I'd make him/her pay for the extra FFL fees.
