Yesterday one of my hidey holes produced several new "Junk Boxes", diving into said boxes is one of my favorite sports..... This fishing expedition produced two unusual pieces of Denver Heiser Leather.
The first is marked "No. 30", and is a stitched leather, belt worn box with a full flap & snap. The outside dimensions of the box are 3 1/4" Wide, 1 7/8" Deep, 2 3/8" High (not measuring the flap). The inside dimensions tend to suggest that this Heiser is intended to carry a full box of taller rimfire ammo, perhaps .22 Magnum. Condition is used, but very good. There is no carving or weave tooling.
The second is a belt worn Magazine Pouch marked "No.3". Again, stitched leather, full flap but with a stud and slot closure. The outside dimensions of this pouch are 2 1/2" Wide, 3/4" Deep and 4 3/8" High. To me this pouch appears to be correct for a magazine from a Winchester 1910 in .401 WCF. or perhaps a 10 round Magazine or a 1905 in .351. This item is floral carved. Condition is used, but very good.
I would like to enlist the help of a more advanced Hermann Heiser Leather collector to confirm the identity of these items, ascertain their era (I suspect the early 1950's from other items in this accumulation), and hopefully narrow down their relative values.
Thanks in advance,
Drew
