Need help identifying these marks on a Model 25-2
I have a Model 25-2 manufactured in 1980. It has a pinned barrel and a few marks I'm not sure of. I think thety are proof marks but I don't know from where or what reason they would be on there. I just got this gun from a friend and he was not the original owner. Here are some pics of the marks. Thanks.

Those are proof marks. This gun went to Europe and was marked by the country it went to. The word printed up under the marks is the company that imported it back to the USA.This is a simplified version of my opinion of what they mean.Hope this helps.

If I recall correctly, Wischo is/was a German firearms importer/exporter. It was one of the European distributors of S&W products.

The eagle over the N is the same proof mark that Heckler & Koch handguns have on their barrels. It is the Ulm nitro proof mark.
The acorn looking symbol is from the Munich proof house.
Google is our friend:

Look on page 5 & 6.

Thanks, that answers my question. Now I have to find out from the previous owners about why it was in Germany and how it got back here.

You nailed it!
I have a few copies of "DWJ" and another German gun magazine, and it is obvious that S&W guns are widely sold and highly regarded in Germany. So are Rugers. Articles and ads reflect this.
Goering was a long way from being the only German to like S&W's.
