Howdy folks. I have decided to replace the front sight plastic insert on my model 28 HP. A white one came with the gun, and is currently in place. I would like to swap it out with a black insert. (never did like the red ones either!) I know that the first thing that comes to mind is to just blacken the one that I have, but it is a little out of shape as well, and I would rather just replace it.
Where should I go to get a replacement? Brownells?
This question came up the other day and yes Brownells sells a kit but I don't think black was one of the colors. You might could add some black paint to the mix and get what you want. Go to the S&W gunsmithing section and you can read a couple of threads on this subject.
yes,if you go the route of the mixing 'epoxy' you can 'tint' this to about any color you want........it's always been the red for the most part, it's just what "shade of red" ( more like orange really)
