Veteran's and Applebee's
In recognition of your service to our country, all veterans and active duty military personnel are invited to eat free at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar Restaurants this Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov.11, 2009. As you may recall, Applebee’s launched a pilot program last year on Veterans Day offering free entrees to military service personnel and veterans. Because the response was so overwhelmingly positive, Applebee’s is extending the invitation throughout the country this year. We would appreciate your help in spreading the word. Please help us share details across your various communication channels. All U.S. veterans and active duty military with proof of current or former military service will eat free at all Applebee’s nationwide on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009. Proof of service includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform. Thanks for the heads up. We have Golden corrals here that have been doing this for years, But since the hurricane, they have new mgmt and chefs that have driven me, my neighbors, and quite a few of my friends from ever going back. Even my mother, Who does not like any spices and very little seasoning said it was so bland she will not return.

Make sure you call the Applebee's you plan on going to a few days in advance and ask about the program or any restrictions.
Last year they had limited participation by restaurants so it was hit or miss. Others limited the number of free meals they gave away, once they hit it they were done. A few even limited the menu selection to the 3 cheapest meals offered.
Hopefully, after the stink they caused last year with the program they will honor their advertisement this year.
