The headline says "Man shot in Marrero Sunday during halftime argument over Saints game." But the story says otherwise:
Quote:
Dalesandro said Gros kept walking down the street, and was joined by his brother, who also was at the house watching the game. She said that when Folse came back out of the house, he was carrying a black handgun. Folse pointed the weapon at Gros and fired one shot before yelling out, "I told you so," Dalesandro said.
Gros and his brother were several houses away when Folse fired the shot, and were not injured. She said they quickly returned to home and called police.

You may want to check that again. I went to the link and the headline said, "Man shot at in Marrero..."

It's only football. What's there to get excited about?

OK, I swear that "at" was not there originally.

Caje, did you put the Saints flag on his house while he was in jail?

Professional football is just a bunch of rich guys playing for whatever team will pay them the most.
There is no loyalty to any state or city, just to the money.
The only ones that make out by winning are the players (and the owners)
So why get so upset with these stupid sports and want to hurt or kill somebody?

"Gros, an avid Saints fan with a bit of temper, took umbrage at Folse's lack of faith..."
While I'm quick to scoff at irrational, emotionally charged fealty to sports teams, and find most sports coverage insipid and inane, you gotta like the reporter's turn of phrase: "an avid Saints fan with a bit of a temper, took umbrage (emphasis added) at Folse's lack of faith..."
I often take umbrage at being subjected to sports drivel --- but seldom respond with gunfire...

You have got to give the Saints fans a break. They have always handled losing very well. Now they have a great pro team - it is something new to them to be winning on Sunday (not just LSU winning on Saturdays).
