Default Victory. Deal or no deal.

So I was at a local shop today and he has an old Victory for 375$$ It is in pretty rough shape pretty beat up with a few dings the grips look rough all the finish is about gone. Buy or dont buy? It marked US Property on the top strap and has the ring for a lanyard and comes with a military holster(not leather)

This one sounds pretty rough, would probably pass at $375 or offer less. A 4" .38 Special would be worth more than a 5" .38 S & W, but from your description this sounds more like a mid-$200 gun no matter what caliber. If it is mechanically sound and has a good bore it will probably shoot fine, but check the caliber. Hope this is helpful.

Default Victory No Deal

I heartily agree with Alan. That is no deal at $375. It was not mentioned if it is a 38 Spcl or 38 S&W.

Thanks guys. Kinda what I thought too. I was unsure of how rare the Victory's are though so I figured I had better get some intel.

Speaking of Victory Models, this one arrived 10 minutes ago. It is all original and matching except the grips. Top strap is maked "U S NAVY". It is an early gun, sn V 82459. I posted these pics to illustrate that there are still good deals around. I picked this one up for $425

I agree the price is too high for a poor condition victory. Also thats a nice Navy at a great price.
