Can't quite make out the ink stamp marking on #1.
A simple 'broad arrow' would be English property.
A capital 'C' with the broadarrow inside the letter pointing upwards is Canadian. They also used 'D^C' for Dominion of Canada on some items.
Australia used 'D^D' very early on,,,I'm thinking before WW1 but don't know the date they changed to a capital 'D' with the broad arrow inside of it, much like the Canadian property mark.
There's others,,all the Commonwealth Nations had their own mark.
S.Africa used 'U' with the arrow inside or sometimes beneath the U.
N^Z for New Zealand plus I think there is another mark used by NZ but can't think of what it is.
Earlier slings generally used brass rivits,,later ones (WW2 and later) used steel. Copper rivits show up sometimes. There were many contractors making these in alot of different locations. All subject to variations of course.
The later ones usually have rivits that have a hole all the way through the center.
The hardware is most always brass though steel was used on some very late ones made in the 60's and newer.
Different color slings were issued at times for special events/units though the individual soldier was usually given the task of the color change by applying 'blanco' to the web gear.
The medium blue color web holster, belt and cartridge case for the Enfield revolver in WW2 is generally said to be for Air Corp issue.
I don't know if the same applys to the slings of that color.
