Model 57-1
Found this almost new 57-1, .41 mag, 8 3/8" at a pawn shop today. The grips are marked June 11, 1985 so I figure this is close to the manufacture date. This is the biggest handgun I have ever bought and the most I ever paid for one too. I paid $525 and couldn't get the owner to budge one bit. I think it is pretty nice, what say you?

I say any N frame for under $600.00 is a great deal considering todays market. I think you did well for that gun. Now all you need is a shoulder holster for concealed carry...LOL

Evening,
I think you got a very nice deal on that one! I love the .41 and thinks it's quite a caliber, and the S&W revolvers that are chambered for it are outstanding guns! Congrats on a fine score! Take care, and God Bless!
Every Good Wish,
Doc

Nice gun, bought a 57-1 a few months back for $575 in very good shape its a 6" my first blued revolver left the factory in 82 or 83. I am a decent shot with it which makes it an even better gun.
Take it easy

I would have bought it too. The 41 mag is my sentimental favorite big bore caliber, and I think it is perfect for the N frame. I have a model 657-3 that I like a lot, but those blue 57's are beautiful. Good find and at a good price. wyatte

I recently bought a 4" 57 in a pawn shop for $520 and I hustled myself out of there before they discovered their error.
You did very well

You did great! That is a deer hunting machine. Wish I'd had the chance to jump on Iggys 4" but that 8" is still a beaut.
Don't Sell It! Ever!

Thanks for the replies. I have been reading up on the .41 caliber and I think I will like it.
Think I will try and find an ankle holster so I can conceal carry it with my swimming trunks.
