Default Is this weird?

I picked up a Model 36 tonight. On the bottom of the grip it has 98J3XX. On what I would call the crane or yoke, it has another number, 626XX. Should these numbers be the same?

Can you guys tell me anything about when it was manufactured, proper grips, etc? It came with a hideous pair of homemade grips that I've replaced with a Hogue monogrip for now.

Hi, produced in 1971. Number near the yoke (crane) is an assembly number for internal factory use. Usually came with checkered service stocks, following the contours of the grip frame - easy to hide, hard to hang onto when shooting. Hope this is helpful.
