Default Nice....!

Good job Chris, you've got to be happy with that one!

You need to find some of the CorBon 335 Grain Plus P loads for that.

Oops, should I ask the question first?
"Is it OK to shoot Plus P in this pencil barrel S&W revolver?"

Rob, ha! Good one.

I'm quite happy. It was going to be this or a 25-5 4" this just won out.

Hope all is well.

Thumbs up

Congrats on the fine addition. Furthermore, I also approve of that load. That bullet/powder combo shoots very well in mine.

I have the same Mountain Gun and love how it shoots - much lighter recoil than I had expected. And it has a nice solid feel to it.

Default 657

I have the 657 version that I am quite happy with

It out shoots my 6" 657 @ 100 yards...I am very happy with mine, and I can only assume that you would be pleased with yours...if not, perhaps an adoption could be arranged?

Default I Love Mine!

I have the blued MG in .45 Colt. I replaced the oversize wood grips it came with smaller wood grips more reminiscent of the older Smiths. To me, a pencil-barrel DA Smith in .45 Colt is totally classy.

I really love my 45colt mountain gun. I have a question for everyone. Do they make a replacement front sight blade for the newer pinned blade models that looks like the half-moon sight blade on the model 21 and 22? I have a 22-4 Thunder Ranch, but the sight blade is much to thick for the opening in the adjustable sight on the rear of the mountain gun. I like the rounded blade look, but also wonder if the blade would be high enough to work with the adjustable rear sights.

I know it's an odd question, but I really like the 22-4, and wish they S&W would come out with a 45colt version. The mountain gun is close, but I really like the square butt and rounded barrel (without rib) on the 22-4.

Thanks

Talking What happened to my Mtn. Gun??

So the post catches my eye and I look through it and start reminiscing about my six-guns. I head back to the safe nonchalantly and open it up and put my paws on my .45 colt Mtn. gun. I pull it out and somehow a small package of miracle grow falls to the floor in front of me. Seems it was leaned up against my Mtn. gun. I picked it up and set it on the counter while wondering why it was in the safe to begin with. I looked at my shooter, and this is what I saw......................That miracle grow sure is something!!!
