Default Late 1800's S&W 38 CTG

I have had this top break pistol passed down to me and have no idea what it is worth. Serial # best I can tell is 244789. Can anyone tell me anything from this serial #?

Very Nice .38 Double Action 3rd Model. As for what the gun is worth I can't comment since I believe that is up to the Seller and what the Buyer is willing to pay.

However, the gun appears to be refinished (Maybe you already knew that). The reason I say this is that on Nickel Guns the Trigger Guard is Blued, Your gun appears to have a Nickel Trigger Guard indicating some modification to the original finish.

Check out pictures and prices for similar guns on the internet and you should be able to come up with some idea of value.

I like the gun a lot and I'm sure you do too....Enjoy it
