Could I get some advise on the value of a 29-2
I have a blued 29-2 in 8 3/8 barrel with the Target hammer, trigger and stocks. I Purchased new around 1976 or 77. It is in the original wooden box with all paper work and unfired other then the factory proof test. Wooden box has some nicks and dents from being a safe queen but the gun is flawless. Was wondering what this is worth? I never fired it as I have the same gun in a 6 1/2. Thanks in advance for input on this.

The SCSW says $850, but a realistic way to research prices is to look at recent completed auctions or sales on the gun websites as a gauge of the current market. Hope this is helpful.

Check Gunbroker to see what they actually go for. Bob

There was one just like it at a local shop for $700. About 2 days later at a gun show I saw one sell for $850. I believe it may have been the same gun, in the wood box with tools and paperwork.

I would say $750 would be a fair price for a 8 3/8".

I just bought a 29-2 with the 8 and 3/8 barrel, with no box, for $525. Not unfired, either, although it is in excellent shape; a turn line is the only mark on the finish, and it locks up tight as a tick. So $750-$800 for a pristine one in the box sounds very reasonable to me.

I think that during the post election buying surge if it's new and unfired $850 to $950 would have been a good deal. I think now $750 to $800 would be a great deal with box and tools as the market has softened. Although model 29's have down well in a soft market.

Thanks for all the input. Now I have a baseline should I ever decide to sell it.
