Default 2010 Preview

2010 is just around the corner and the SHOT Show is coming up soon. One distributor listed these new S&W products for 2010. I do not know any more about any of them, other than the cryptic computer description, which is presented as I received it. S&W's website typically does not announce new products until the SHOT Show actually starts. So, for whatever it is worth, here are SOME of the new items listed:

SW 15 CLASSIC 4 38SPL BLU/BLK
SW 48 CLASSIC 4 22WMR BLU/BLK
SW 48 CLASSIC 22WMR 6 BLU/BLK
SW 29 44MAG 4 BLU/BLK ENGRAVED
SW 640 38SPL 2 1/8 SS ENGRAVED W/CASE

SW 442 38SPL 1 7/8 BLU/BLK ENGRAVED
SW 10 CLASSIC 4 38SPL BLU/BLK
SW 43C 22LR 1 7/8 8 SHOT BL/BLK

SW 642 38SPL 2 1/2 5 SHOT SS
SW 637 38SPL 2 1/2 5 SHOT
SW 638 38SPL 2 1/2 5 SHOT SS
SW 642CT 38SPL SS 2 1/2 CRIMSON TRACE
SW 637 38SPL 2 1/2 5 SHOT CRIMSON TRACE
SW 638 38SPL 2 1/2 5SHOT SS W/CRIMSON
SW 63 22LR 3 SS

638 would be nice, sans lock.

I wonder what the resale value of older model 48's will be like? Then there were 686 5" guns in '88 and the recent 686 5" unfuted will do? My bet the demand will drop for the '88 model 5", but the unfluted like mine might do well.

I have been wanting to have my 5" moon clip converted, but just haven't done it as yet. Probably never will.

The 638 and 642 with 2.5 inch barrel looks good, but I'd have to find new holsters!

Model 48 with a 6" barrel sounds interesting. They're pretty hard to come by used.

Anyone else notice that with the exception of the 5" 686 all of these look like CCW or defensive revolvers as opposed to longer range hunting type guns? Dennis

on a 22 range gun, I could care less about a lock, I'm not carrying it for defensive purposes.

Wasn't gonna bring it up but since someone else did, unless they lose the lock, all the new varients may sound nice but I'm not planning on buying any. Boycotting is just my little personal protest. It'll have to be a smokin good deal for me to purchase and then I'm pluggin it.
Hope all had a happy Thanksgiving.
