Default 586-3

Greetings,
I bought a 586 at a local show (used) about 2 years back and enjoy this gun a lot. Someone told me about the recall and from my reading on this forum, I am on the fence as to sending it back. I do not see an "M" so I guess it has not been back for modification. Trying to find out about the date of birth. Serial number is BDN-84XX. Great shooter!

The recall was on the no dash and the -1 guns only, I don't have a book in front of me but one of the guys will step in and tell you when it was made.

Looks like early 1989 according to SCSW 3rd edition.

Thank you Sir! I appreciate your time. It is fun to know such things. In 1989 I was getting ready to go to Korea for a short time with the Army.

I own a no dash 4" 586 that has never had the mod and has never failed to fire. I'll let it stay as is because it's not a defensive weapon.

If it was a carry revolver I'd send it back. Mines a shooting machine also. Gallon jugs are not safe at 100 yards IF I'm having a good day with no coffee in my system.
