Greetings from a newby. I collect older guns, including handguns, and just got a Top Break .38 S&W (short) that works fine single action but not double action. The cylinder stop doesn't release the cyl when trying DA shooting, but if I cock the hammer very slightly and rotate the cyl a tiny bit in the correct firing direction, the DA works fine.
This seems like a timing issue, fast rather than slow timing. Is this a typical malfunction? How do I fix it (I have a complete machine shop and some experience with old guns).
Thanx in advance for the help!
