Default .357 Magnum S&W 60LS - Am I a girly-man now?

I'm picking it up tomorrow. Plan to CCW it in warm weather but who will talk to me when I carry it? Are any other manly-men here willing to admit to owning/carrying one? LOL! Dennis

Just put pink stocks on it and defy anyone to snicker. Honestly, it takes real stones to fire a model 60 with .357 mag ammo.

You now have a less than lethal option available to you.

Show the BG the markings on the side of your gun. If he don't fall down laffing, you can still shoot him!!

Just kidding, they are nice guns.

i tend to judge a girly-man not by his choice of guns but rather by his walk....LOL.

I get scared really easy these days. First you say you're getting an LS. Just as important as the lettering and the pink grip option is your wearing a pink thong. But if you are, you already know the answer to your question!

The way I see it, Ladysmith is the name of the gun, and not anything to do with the carrier's gender, and a Ladysmith is a beautiful looking gun, especially with the rosewood grips. And don't most guys refer to their guns as "her", or "she"?

Yes, I carry my wife's Ladysmith M60-14 once in awhile, in a manly holster.

Wait a minute. A goldsmith works with gold. A silversmith uses silver. A gunsmith fixes or makes guns. What, then, are we supposed to think of someone who identifies himself with the word "Ladysmith?"

I'd take any opportunity to carry any of them I've ever seen!
I always liked their appearance as well as the unique features a few had.

I frequently go out in the company of a Lady(smith).

An M65LS, that is. And I am perfrctly secure in my sexuality.

All joking aside, I'd absolutely carry it. I picked up a 3" RB 65 a few years ago, but I'd gladly add a similar 65LS to my stable- it has quite an enviable reputation!!! I know Smith was looking at a particular market segment for the "Lady Smith," but I think a slightly different name might have REALLY added to their CCW and BUG market for the dyed-in-the-wool male S&W customers!

It would be worse than that guy in the Progressive commercial! Ummm it's a European shoulder bag.....

But to the OP it's no big deal to rock a Lady Smith. As long as it goes bang when you need it to who cares!

If carrying a Ladysmith means you are girly, what does carrying an Airweight make you?

As they say in the military "Don't ask, Don't tell"! Come on. You can tell us . We'll even keep it a secret.

Great revolver BTW if you DON"T put the pinkies on it.

Heck, just sandblast the "Lady" off the sideplate....good to go lol. All kidding aside, They are sweet guns. Oh by the way Barb, it's good to see that you carry something that if you run out of ammo, you can always crawl down the barrel and hide out. Thats a big bore!

Dennis as long as you DON'T have inplants in the planning you will be OK around here, just think - you will have a Lady in your pocket that speaks only when you want her to .

I think the psych ward head nurse applies for this herd?
Perhaps a slide show Barbara?
Where if someone gets way outta' line with the Lady running the med's cart, it automatically advances you to her original avatar?
I think it's called Psy-Op's? Make the first transition subtle, to determine the IQ of the intended victim....Er? Target....Um? Well, you guys get the idea...

With 16.5 years in law enforcement I just picked up a model 65ls. I have been searching for one for years and just found this one at the right price of 550.00. As far as being considerred a girly man, I could care less. From what I have read on this forum alot of people are carrying for personal protection. A .38 or .357 is the same cartridge no matter what gun you shoot it in. However, should you have to make the decision to actually have to use it and you wind up in court, what do you think would be more favorable in the eyes of 12 jury members who have no clue about firearms, a person trying to protect themselves with this ladysmith, a gun designed for women, or someone with say a distinguished combat magnum or a dirty harry special who was just looking to get into a fight and shoot someone. Could make a difference if there were any questions.

Default Great weapon, poor marketing choice of a name

The LadySmith is geared to women. Period. The same weapon is offered as a Model 65 and 19, and 13. The 3-inch barrel is a perfect choice for a CCW, but I intentionally sought out a model 65 instead of ponying up an extra $150 for the LadySmith name engraved on the side. My ego just wouldn't let me carry a girl's gun.
I love the 3-inch .357, and want to add a simple model 13 to my stable when I run across one, but I will pass on the LadySmith models. No sense in paying extra for a LadySmith name that I would try to get sandblasted off if I purchased one.
I guess I really am that shallow, but fortunately S&W does offer the same weapon without the LadySmith name...

The biggest attraction the 65L/S has always had for me, was that shrouded full length ejector, on a 3" barrel, with fixed sights!
But then I'm famous for lusting after beautiful women I can't have, alas?
