Default good choice?

i picked up a 629-2, nearly unfired from what i could tell, today. 6 1/2 in barrel wood stock, dimes are a little worn and torn. walked out the door with 100 rd of 240gr jhp and gun for 800.

but i the other choice i had was a 625 (can't remember if their was a dash or not) mountain gun 45 acp with 2 moon clips "unfired?" they put the question mark on cause the guy that sold it to him says it was unfired and looked it, too. that was 650.

i'll get pics of the 629 soon, hopefully, camera battery is dead, waiting for it to charge.

i'm almost tempted to sell one of my autos for that 625. i know, you'll all say what stopped you from walking out with both, right? if i got the 625 i'd never fire it, but i don't plan on firing the 629 a lot either. but i don't want lose out on the fun of shooting that.

Sir, the .45 ACP Mountain Gun would be neat to have. Smith made far fewer of those than .44 mags, and the MG is a nice, tidy little package. I dunno if I'd sell an auto to get one, though. Would depend on the auto.

JMHO, FWIW.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Congratulations on the purchase the 629 because it is a great gun and I believe the barrel is a 6 inch as the Model 629 came in 4, 6 , 8 3/8 inch barrels.

The serial puts it at 1973. Don't forget the pics. We love pics. I picked up a 625-3 (not a MG) in 45ACP this week and really like it.
