Default MAB-15

has anyone had experience with MAB-15 9mm, I know it is a french service pistol designed in the 70's and carries 15 rounds. I believe it is a SA/DA pistol but am not sure.

Any help or info would be appreciated tahnks

Modern Firearms - Handguns - MAB PA-15 / P-15 pistol
Looks to be a SA pistol.

I have one that was imported by Howco and it is sa only and built hell-for-stout. It is a heavy service handgun that is very reliable, but my preferred sa 9mm is and will remain the Browning Hi-Power.

Why did you think it was a DA? The trigger appearance doesn't support that theory.

I can see how the trigger on a Browning Hi-Power might look DA to a new shooter, but the MAB, the Colt Govt. Model, etc. all look SA to me.

Hi Stan;

I have owned two of them. They are very heavy as referenced. Not too good for carry. But they are very reliable and accurate. They are single action as referenced. Neat if you are looking for a heavy plinker.

Take Care

The 'locking' system is like that on a 32 cal Savage: a delayed blowback. I wanted one until I shot a friend's: it's as heavy as a 1911 and kicks as hard due to the delayed blowback feature, but it's only a 9mm.
