Christmas Marlin, 336 in .35 Remington caliber (pics)....
My Uncle gave me a dandy Christmas present this year, a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington caliber. Rifle looks like it had never been fired. I think the rifle was made around 1990. He also gave me two boxes of .35 ammo, one of 150 grain and one of 200 grainers. I remedied the unfired situation this morning, the rifle favors the 200 grain bullets, that's fine with me:
Group was fired from the prone position at 50 yards, Mexican Peso shown for comparison. Point of aim was 6 O'clock hold, so the rifle should be dead on out to 100-150 yards.
My Uncle went to a lot of trouble finding this rifle and ammo, the ammo was the hardest part. I'll be handloading for it, so ammo availability won't be a problem. One neat thing, groove diameter is the same as .357 Magnum, so jacketed .357 pistol bullets can be hand loaded. Should make a fine utility rifle....

That is a really nice setup. I own a Savage 170 pump in .35 Remington, and it is a deer slayer.
When I lived in Montana every K-Mart carried .35 Remington ammo.

Excellent! I love my 1976 Model 336 in 35 Rem. Lots of good reading at marlinowners.com if you get so interested.

Your's probably has the 'micro-groove' rifling, but I cast a 200g RN-GC for that caliber. Driven around 1400fps it should do fine, if you'd like a few sample bullets to try let me know.
By far one of my favorite calibers.
Also, I just picked up 500 Rem 200g RN from Midway, I think around $160. Found new brass @ Natchez.
Good luck!

Be careful of loading more than one 150gr round in the tube magazine, as they are pointed. 200 is blunt nose, no problem.
