have s&w model 19 2 1/2 " revolver. lost the red plastic insert on front sight. need one. would like to buy several if possable for spairs. thanks gotzguns

You arent gonna find the factory inserts - they are pressed in from a piece of plastic. There are some kits out there that involve mixing a powder and solvent, put it in the notch and file off when it hardens. I have also see some guys make inserts from a plastic toothbrush handle.

Brownell's sells both the epoxy mix type kits, and the sheets to cut the insert from. Here is a link to the resin type kits-

My local gun smith said he cut and can put a red ramp sight in my 686 for about $20
