4" 44 Frontier Double action
I have definitely caught the bug. I saw this puppy in the local pawn shop and had to have it. I have not got my copy of the book yet the serial is 11XXX. The cylinder 1 7/16 long. Does anyone know about when these where made or have other guns with close serial numbers. I will be getting a letter for this one for sure. I will post the info when I get it.

Nice looking DA! Congratulations!!
However, with that serial number and cylinder length, it's not a Frontier (44/40) but rather a .44 DA 1st Model in .44 Russian.

Don't underestimate pawn shops. Probably my best deal ever came out of a pawn shop. I picked up an early (oil hole) 1st Model American at a pawn shop for $400.00.
(I will admit I haven't seen anything like that recently. )

Beautiful. If you don't mind me asking, what did you have to give the pawn shop for it?
