Default Front sight question

Evenin fellow smithites... I've got a model 669 with the narrow red insert in the front sight.. Any easy way to brighten it up? Awfully narrow area. Was considering getting a Hi-Viz replacement insert and trimming it to length and glueing it on over the insert. Any one done this??? Thanx Stash
