Doeboy1, can you give us the first few digits of the serial number of this gun? I'd like to help you date it properly so you can get a good answer on the box question. Prewar Kit guns, and the postwar Transitional Kit Guns, came in maroon boxes. Some time after the company introduced the Model of 1953 kit gun, I think they were shipped in blue boxes.

Is the gun marked as a Model 34 on the frame when you open the cylinder?

Here's a picture of a prewar Kit Gun and a prewar box end:

sorry i didn't have very much time to write down all the information. i found it in a pawn shop that is usually way over priced. the drive home is when i thought i would really like to have it. if it was worth the 799.00 i would like to have it. i'll have to go back next week to look at it again. but the one you have is very much like it.

799.00? That's waaaay out of line IMO. $500 maybe, $400-$450 is more like it unless it's a LNIB Bekeart model.

If it is a pre-war gun it is a steal at that price.

if its something you really want, and you feel its worth it then go for it! otherwise you will regret it. you are the one who needs to be happy with it. oh, and post pix if you do!

i think i'm going to pass this time. i may regret not getting it but the chance of paying too much is a heavy burden to carry around. thanks for the help. i realized i could have 2 mod 15's and a mod 67. for the price of that kit gun. i'm sure they made a thousand of them thanks doeboy
