i have no camera ...so no pics right now. i would really apprecate some info on this and cant find anything specific in the s&w book.so here goes its a 2" barrel square frame nickel finish serrated ramp front sight pinned barrel and on the bottom of the grip is 9J862 inside is a 36 and on the yoke is 92945 and the thumb latch is the traditional type the serial number is not in the book but i think it might be from the mid 60"s thanks in advance for time guys.

It's a 1971-72 vintage serial number. There's a typo in the book (pg399), it should read 1J1-999J99.

Is the #36 inside the yolk?
If so you have a model 36, AKA Chiefs special.
The 9XXX is just assembly #s
