Default M&P 15-22 is back

my gun made its way home yesterday after having been gone for 4 weeks. I didn't get any free mags like alot of you have been reporting getting but my gun did come back absolutely flithy. I hope the flithy part means that it is functioning properly now. I'm going to the range for lunch today and will report back on the guns perfromance when I get back.
BTW...has anyone called S&W that didn't get free mags and ask for some? If so, did they give you any?

Glad you got your 15-22 back. Look forward to range report.

Free magazines were too good to last. Maybe a S&W resolution in 2010 no freebies?

I would call and demand them. The people who have had problems deserve them. I got 2 free mags. I would call them and tell them you would appreciate 2 mags like everybody else. If they say their out then say, " O.k, I would appreciate it if you would back order 2 for me, I am a valuable customer" This is one thing I believe strongly in. If I didn't get my 2 mags when they came, believe me they'd be getting a call from me. Seriously, How can you give to some and then not others. I see people on here saying they got no mags or 1 mag, ***? By the way, waiting for your range report. My post repair range report was outstanding, hope yours is.

After 8 days I just got mine back today. Mine was also very dirty, not just in the action but the whole gun, like a dusty material. I also did NOT receive any free mags. I do plan on calling smith and complaining (just to get the mags).

I am going to try to get it out tomorrow and see what it will do. I still have about 2500 rounds of "golden bombs" that I will put through it, yeah right!

Default follow up range report

well, I got the M&P 15-22 to the range during lunch like I planned. It is -20 here today so I only ran 5 mags full through the gun with a normal rate of fire and 2 mags as fast as I could pull the trigger. I used american eagle ammo. I'm very pleased to say that I didn't have no fte or ftf. The gun ate up every bit of ammo I fed it. It was a whole lot of fun blasting away with a gun that actaully functioned as advertised. I never knew how accurate this gun could be because of my first range experience. I was shooting soda cans at 75 yards with ease from the standing position.
I'm gonna call S&W to find out about the mags. I agree with Corporal Punishment, everyone should get at least 1 mag for their troubles and seeing that I waited 3x as long as most of you to get my gun back, I should get 2 mags!!

It is possible that one of the reasons, my 15-22 runs without any problem for more than 2k round, is because I stop using the "Golden Bombs" since it showed first sign of protential problem. I stick with the rounds that work with my rifle.

Your 15-22, might be different though.

Have fun !!!

Congrads!!!! on getting your 15-22 back and having fun with it, i went through the same thing back in September, when i had to send mine off. Been great ever since, they sent me a magazine, and even the manager at Academy where i got the gun at, gave me a 20 dollar hard plastic gun case for my 15-22, and also 2 100rd boxes of Winchester SuperSpeedRN ammo, all for my troubles.

Do me a favor and tell that manager about what I experienced and see if he'll give me some rounds and a case.
J/K...thanks.

Great I was just getting ready to send mine back (called in and got a tag shipped to me) because it's brand new and the mag catch is cracked. I of course figured I would get 2 mags for the fact that my brand new gun came with a busted component, but I guess I will get shafted on that as well.

....I guess it's good to know I'm not the only one to have that experience. Mine was gone for 3 weeks. It also came back dirty (almost like saw dust or something was over it), and I didn't get any extra mags.

I was so annoyed (because mine came broken out of the box - no feed ramp), that I called to ask for some free mags. The guy wouldn't budge. He said if others got free mags it was a mistake, because they don't do that.

Nice, rifle is a freakin blast when it's squared away. Good luck with the mags. Fair is Fair and you can't get anything if you don't ask.

Was your gun repaired in 2009 or 2010?

2009-2010-2011 doesn't mean anything. His rifle was probably made the same time as ours. He went through the same **** we did. I've come to expect things can't be " Perfect " but they should be damn close regardless of when they were made. TAke no **it ak.

So I can't ask him a question? And I inquired as to when the 15-22 was repaired, not made.

Default well...

I talked to Ron over at S&W cs department and after a good 10 minutes of back and forth he agreed to send me a free mag. He said that they aren't doing the free mag give away anymore. He said that they stopped doing it for 2010. I guess some kinda S&W New Year's resolution. I told him that I sent the rifle in for service in late December so I should get a mag or two like others have. Well, long story short, I'm getting one free mag but they are on back order so it will be at least a few weeks. Better late then never.

i sent it off on dec 23rd, but it didn't get repaired until 2010.

i can see why they aren't sending out free mags with the repairs....too many repairs and they're giving away too many mags.

that's okay. i both of my S&W purchases have had to go back (the other is my 40c), without much sympathy from their customer service. i think i'll buy another brand next time.

I haven't called yet about not getting my mag but one thing I have learned is that when ever you call somewhere like customer service first give them the hint that you are writing down the conversation. Mention the date and time, and always ask for their name. If they won't give their name ask for an employee number. That way they know that if they give you **** you can call back and report them or tell the next cs rep that you talked to his fellow rep sitting next to him and he told you this and that.

Many of us got two (2) complimentary magazines when S&W returned our rifles after repair. Look under the cardboard cutout if you only got one, that's where mine was.
