Default Help with Dad's Smith

I'm working on my friends Dad's collection on of his Smiths is a 357 REG04xx is this a 357 registered magnum? If it is what is the year of it's birth? Thanks Larry

We can't tell by the registration number, we need the serial number. You can X out the last two digits if you prefer.

The Registered Magnums did have the REG XXXX on the frame but I don't think the 0 after the REG looks right. Photo and serial number would help.

That number looks like the Registered Magnum 50th Anniversary from 1985. If that's what it is, it should be in a wooden case with a "certificate". Need more info to be sure.

No need to go any further. He went looking for the gun to get more info and it seem's he no longer has it, along with some others. Seem's that maybe his 40 something child with issues may have relieved him of it and others. Thanks all for the help. Larry
