Gunshow Today....38 HE 4th...and another "goodie"
The local gunshow was PACKED today! I was told it must be "cabin fever".
I came across a decent old .38 Hand Ejector....it must have "spoke to me" because it came home with me.
It's about an 80-85% gun. What got (and held) my attention were the grips and when handled, how darn tight it is...it's the tightest S&W I own. IMHO...this gun was a "sock-drawer" gun that saw very little time at the range.
All the numbers match, it looks to be all original...the screws show no sign of being removed...and the grips are pretty nice. A decent old Nickel 4" M&P...maybe a late 1920's gun?

And...a cool side item...looks like it's off of a M28...

Nice find! I'm a sucker for those old Hand Ejectors...especially with a nickel finish. Enjoy!

It sounds like you had a good show.
Is the cylinder marked with an "H" on the back?

smith17,
Thanks. It's hard to know without a letter or reply from Mr. Jinks. The serial number range for the 4th Change is pretty vast.

Sorry. From your initial question, I thought you were asking for opinions. I have 2, either side of yours that are 1926 guns but there is a couple of thousand difference in serial numbers.

Actually Ed, I an thrilled to have your feedback. I assumed you had guns on either side since the books do not tell us much...I did not expect to get a comment from Mr. Jinks until the weekend was over.
Thanks for sharing.

Bob,
Very nice indeed! I just love the numbered non medallion grips! You always are finding neat stuff!

Thank Bill. I also think it's kinda neat. It's fun to drag one home when it's pushing ninety-years old!
