Default Replacement Rebound Springs

When replacing the factory rebound spring to lighten the trigger what poundage do you use and does it differ with different fame sizes?

The rebound spring should balance with the main spring. On N-frames with stock mains, 14lb rebounds have always worked for me. With a lighter main, especially if you back out the strain screw some, you can drop to 11lb no sweat. I've only replaced the rebound on one K-frame. It's a 14lb with two coils cut matched to a Wolff light main, strain screw backed 1 1/4 turns. Nice trigger on that one.

14LB or better should work on most factory guns with full power main springs. At worst the trigger will be slugish and not return quickly, so if this happens try the 15LB or adjust the main spring down slightly.

Default Rebound Spring

I have had good results with the ISMI 10% redused power rebound springs from Brownells, in K and L frames.
