Default 27 ... Front Sight.

Hi,

I have a Model 27-2. Is there any trick to removing the front sight blade? I see a pin in there. Is that all there is to it? Knock out the pin?

Just pinned in. Why do you want to remove it? New sight?

I recently had my 29-2 changed to a patridge front (from Midway).

Was going to do it myself, but chickened out and took it to a local 'smith. $20 bucks later its perfect.

If you do do it, order the sight AND a new pin.

Thanks. Is there any trick to the removal? Do you have to hammer it out left to right? Or right to left? Or does it not matter?

And, does anybody know what size drift pin and drill bit I should I use?

Just drifts out. Small punch, be careful of messing up. Then, the new blade has to be drilled in the exact spot to hold it in place. I probably could have done it, but for 20 bucks I let the local smithy do the deed:
