Otis, the wonder dog.....
This is Otis, the third of our Golden Retrievers. Otis, apparently, does not like potted annuals.
According to the boss, two Goldens are plenty after all and Otis was nearly sent down the road. He has since grown up a little and has taken over the responsibility of getting the paper in the morning.
It took a while to keep him from bringing me the neighbor ladies' paper, too. After all, if one gets a Milk Bone for getting the paper, then two papers should be better!

Daizy in background, Patty up front. 2 and 2.5 pound Chihuahuas. 8 weeks old 2 years ago. Small dogs make small poop. Very important.

Whenever my dogs do something wrong I always ask "who did that"? They flop on their back and wag their tails. At that point I always forgive. This technique has never worked for me personally. My tail has mind of it's own these days.

This is Cody. He was a 116 pound sweetheart. We lost him 1 1/2 years ago, and we still miss him. He was a rescue dog we got from the pound.
This is Buster, another rescue. When we got him, he didn't weigh more than 30 pounds. Now he's about 65 pounds.

A sunny Sunday afternoon snooze. Henry Thomas @ 60 lbs the little guy. Duke the Dane. He loves to spend quality time with Mr.Sunbeam and will follow him from room to room. Finally, Emelie the Christmas Puppy. She is our newest member, an Irish Wolfhound we think is around 20 months old.

I am a dog fan, but love all animals
As far as canines are concerned, wifey and me are on our 3rd standard poodle.
#1 Bijou= the jewel. adopted at 10 years old, a beautiful black Royal and was there for the births of our three children.Died at age 13.
#2 Tazzio = famed Italian race car driver who assumed Bijou's role as family goofball and babysitter, died age 15.
#3 Cooper= Kids grown, no babys to look after only two old codgers..........I get alot o **** about my love of the standard poodle, some buds call 'em wussies....but they are a brave and hardy breed wicked smart, too smart sometimes. Anyway the object of our affection is "Coopa the poopa"
4 months old....
2. and recently bagged trying to scarf the dinner rolls.

This is "Miss Dixie Stampede" she is a Registered Boston Bull Dog. Some People are not aware of it, But the True Early Boston Bull Dog's were large in size averaging 25-35 Pounds and were the Original Pit Bulls {See The Attached Link}. Through the Years they have been Bred down in size and are now called The Boston Terrier, of which mine isn't being a True Boston Bull Dog she will eventually get to be around 25-35 Pounds. They are a very Loyal trusty family pet and only Grow irratable when Teased. Her she is at 6 weeks old this Past Summer...Hammerdown

I like Chihuahuas. I've got 2 females. I don't get around that well and the little girls are satisfied with the house and little yard to roam. I've heard there's a lot of Chihuahuas in shelters in California. Most people don't know the breed.

My newest grandpuppy, Brody, a mutt. I think he's a beagle/doberman/lab mix. He has big paws so I think he will be big and it took him awhile to grow into his nose. He was a little funny looking at first (I didn't tell my daughter that).

My Rottweiler Maya, when she was about 9 months old. That was about 50lbs ago and 3-4 years ago. When I bought her she was advertised as being "The most loving family pet you will ever own that will also serve as the most vicious home security system available". They were right on both counts. What they did not tell me was that she would end up loving all creatures smaller than her and hating all animals larger than her. Especially the mail man.

This is Bard the dog. Interesting animal , he has three advance degrees and speaks four languages. Actually when he was a puppy he was thrown out of a car on an interstate in Las Vegas. My brother rescued him from a pound. He is fourteen years old now and spent most of his life in NYC. He now lives with me in upstate New York on the Vermont border. Kind of a fresh air program city kids.

We're on our 4th and 5th Greyhounds...it's been said that Greyhounds don't have owners, they have staff ..

Remember, "THERE'S ONLY ONE SMARTEST DOG IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND EVERY LITTLE BOY OWNS HIM".
I saw this years ago and never forgot it.
The other thing I remember is "Never trust a man that hates a dog".
There is alot of truth to that.

Here's my "dog of my lifetime," Ike. He was the Alpha male in his litter. Big, strong and the first to leave the litter to explore the house. Very smart and inquisitive.
The Boston Terrier is such a fantastic breed that I'm shocked they aren't #1 each year in popularity.
Smart, sassy, humorous, intuitive and loyal . . . dogs just don't come any better, even though there are a lot of good breeds.
My daughter-in-law calls Ike "The Human Dog," and for very good reasons. He's amazing . . . all the time and he's never "bad," truly!
Ike will be five on June 1st. Here he was at seven and a half weeks:
