Default Help with model 12-2

Found a minty looking blue 2" 12-2 in a local shop. No wear, but side plate had large S&W monogram that appeared weak (as if overpolished). I have no real experience with the airwieghts and wondered if this is common due to the coatings, or if I should be extra cautious due to possible refinish. Nothing else cries refinish, all sides are square with no dishing, screw holes are unmolested, all other markings are clean and clear, just the sideplate. Any suggestions?

Cecil I also have a M12-2 and my monogram is the same as yours. I think that is just the way they are. I would not worry about it. Don

Ditto for my 12-2. Mine is a little bit worn around the edges but a great carry gun.
