EDIT - Interesting, after the server maintenance it looks like the clocks might be off since this is showing up as 7:13am and placing this at the top of the thread when it's really 12:13pm. Checked my User CP and it's correct......I also can't delete my own post...... REAL POST IS ONE THREAD BELOW.

M&P15-22 MBUS Model (15-22 MOE)
I've received several questions about the MBUS sights I put on my 15-22 as well as a person stating he had seen a 15-22 at a dealer with MBUS sights and asking if they were factory. While mine were aftermarket, S&W is adding additional 15-22 models for 2010 that includes a model with Magpul and Magpul MBUS parts, the M&P15-22 MOE. The MOE comes with a threaded barrel, Magpul stock, grip and folding MBUS sights. See the attached picture for specs from the S&W 2010 New Products Catalog, or go to the links where you find the catalog download. I also included another page showing the 10rd magazine with a differing follower color, but still looking like a full 25rd mag.

I saw a 15-22 with just MBUS for 499 at the gun show this weekend.
I duknow... but I kinda like upgrading my rifle. Prolly save a couple bucks having the factory do it... maybe... but it takes some fun out of it too.

If it had the full Magpul package for $499 (stock, grip, sights) that's a killer deal. I tried to put similar items on my 15-22 that are on my LMT M4 so the feel would be as close as possible. I can't wait until the wife see the receipt for that LMT SOPMOD stock and figures out it was almost half the cost of the rifle!

LOL!
My wife likes all the gun stuff... she is very clever to leverage my Midway Mania in her favor.
We were at an Apple computer store recently and she was looking at the MacBook Pro. I explained to her that was just way too much money to spend on a laptop. She rolled her eyes back and mentioned Midway... she walked out with her MacBook pro and smiling...

At the risk of hijacking my own thread - we bought my daughter a MacBook Pro for college. She comes home and Mom sees her video chatting on it and luvs it. Off to the store to get Mom a MBP. Set it up for her and show her how to use the thing. Go downstairs later and find Mom on couch and Daughter on love seat (3ft apart) video chatting to each other. I shook my head and left (not saying a word BTW) and thinking to myself, 22,500 miles up and 22,500 miles down.....

If anyone sees an moe model check to see if it has the blue colored springs and new extractor. Just curious.

I think he is referring to one of the jp springs that is red - its' only for use with the jp AR trigger components, so I would say the answer is no, don't use the red springs.

I just picked up an MOE model at a gun show Saturday. It does have the blue spring, and the newer magazine. How do I know if it has the new extractor?
