Crossbreed vs Kholster
I need a holster for my recently purchased Sigma 9VE. Ive owned a couple of Crossbreed holsters and absolutely loved them. Now I see Kholster and wonder if it can compete with Crossbreed. I know the Kholster is a little cheaper. Kholster looks a little odd to me as well.
also, which Kholster is better for the 9ve, full moon or crescent?
thanks!

I've never used a Crossbreed but I have used the Kholster and it worked great. I had a "full moon" and cut the backer down to where I could get a full grip on the gun (it ended up looking similar to the Crossbreed when I was done) and I never had a problem with it. Of the two choices I don't see spending the extra $$$ on the Crossbreed when they are virtually the same (I'd recommend the Comp-Tac MTAC over both of them but it's not available for the Sigma)

I chose the Kholster over the SuperTuck mostly because of the price, since the design is so similar. I love it just as it came, though it can be trimmed down to more closely resemble the SuperTuck . The only real difference I see is clip design, which isn't even a huge difference.
I'd suggest the Full Moon. My 40VE fits great in my M&P40c's Crescent Kholster but it isn't fully covered. You can always trim more, it's a bit more difficult to add material
(I'd be extremely surprised if a Sigma wouldn't work in MTAC for a 4" M&P, perhaps the Slide version. If not, a heat gun would influence it enough to make up the difference.)

I have a Kholster for my XD45 and like it. Never tried the Cross Breed, but like you I figured why spend the extra dough. That's the only issue I've had to get used to is getting a full grip around the the gun due to how tight against the backing it is held. Maybe I'll consider some surgery as you guys have mentioned.

My vote goes to the Kholster. I've had mine on since 3AM today. Barely notice it.
When you first look at it you think it has a huge piece of leather for a backing but you forget all about it once you are wearing it.
I also have Comp-Tac Infidel holsters and they are great for when I know I will have to remove the holster quickly (entering federal buildings etc).
Both Kholster and Comp-Tac have fantastic customer service.

+1 for kholster..I carry my heavy S&W 645 in mine using Lobogunleather's belt and both compliment each other. I lucked out and was able to get a slightly used Kholster (could not even tell it was used !)at a even better price.

guys, I think Im going to go ahead and order a Kholster for my Sigma 9VE. just a couple last minute questions.
1. when ordering it asks "Does your gun have a Rail?". what kind of rail is it referring to?
2. is the Kholster for hip wear only? it sure doesnt look like appendix or small of back.
3. anyone want to give me a rebate code that I can use?
thanks !

Had mine since January 2009 and like it a lot.
1. VE's have a rail.
2. Works appendix fine. They are very adjustable. Ask for the "Full Moon". You can always trim it.
3. 335061 10% discount code.

Kholster is superior to the Crossbreed. Kholster has better metal clips, better quality leather that does not have an odor and the kydex is thicker. Quality of workmanship is about the same on both brands. Crossbreed cowhide cost $79 while the Kholster is delivered at $50.

I have two Kholsters, a Crossbreed Supertuck, and a Comp-Tac MTAC, all for different guns. They all work great, and I don't really have a preference. Comp-Tac has the fastest turnaround time, followed by Kholster. They both have great customer service, as someone else already mentioned. I think my Crossbreed took about 7-8 weeks to receive. I think my Kholsters got here in less than 2 weeks, and the Comp-Tac was even faster. I'd probably go with the Full Moon if you're getting a Kholster for the Sigma.
