My three favorite S&W's
I have been lurking on this site for the last several years and have recently received a message suggesting I perhaps contribute a bit. Here is a short take on my 3 favorite Smith and Wessons. I decided to post here as this is where I generally spend most of my time.
Model 27-8PC This is my first revolver with a barrel length over 2" and has become an instant favorite. It has the smoothest double action I have ever felt and is even a pleasure to shoot with full house magnums due to it's heft.
Model 337. This revolver was purchased from a fellow forum member on here and has been my EDC or BUG ever since. It replaced a 360sc that had IL problems and has given me flawless performance every time. The grips I added and am very happy with. They greatly improve the purchase I can acquire with my hand type.
SW1911. This is the oldest S&W I own and has been the most dependable automatic I have ever bought. I have a horrible track record with Auto's and have had rarities such as a broken glock and a sig that I just couldn't get to work right. This gun has been a true performer right out of the box.
I have a SW1911 sub compact pro series paid for that I am eagerly waiting for and that hopefully will be another favorite. Once it's proved reliable enough for carry. Unfortunately I have a feeling it's going to be a long wait.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read my post and more importantly thanks to everyone on here for sharing their knowledge and amazing photo's.

Great to see you finally post as we love people to contribute as the learning process is a two way street for all of us. You have a nice collection of guns and everyone needs at least one 1911 in the family. I have a large collection of S&W's and a couple 1911's and a bunch of Sig's. I was sorry to hear of your problem with the Sig as mine have always run trouble free.

Thanks! And in all fairness
The Sig in question was the 220ST carry. It would fail to feed on last round of both mags. It went back to factory once but continued to malfunction. I'm sure a second trip would have been all it needed but I lost interest.
The Glock was a G36 that had a large corner of the barrel/chamber chip off but still functioned 100%.

Nice collection and welcome to the forum. You mentioned IL problems with the 360. What kind of problems? I have a 340PD and am wondering if I should put the plug in. No problems yet, just wonderin'.

Occasionally when firing heavy recoiling rounds of ammunition the flag indicator would come half way up jamming up the firearm. It did it appx 1 out of 100 times (usually once per range trip but not always). The only way I could get it back into action was by inserting the key and working it back and forth until it was fully in the unlocked position. If yours has never experienced any similar problem I would imagine it's fine just as the countless working examples out in circulation.

The 340PD is a Centennial, so I'm not sure if there is a flag. To be honest, I've never even actuated the lock. I figure the less it's used the better.

Gads... a trio of favorite S&W handguns - on a revolver forum - and one is an evil bottom feeder! Yuck!!
Well, the other two are okay... pretty nice, actually. But - a 1911 clone on a revolver forum - that needs to be a 1917, 25, or 625, if it's a .45 ACP! Wheelguns rule!!

Hate to disagree but I own over 30 S&W revolvers and still like my two Custom Government 45's and all my Sig's. The beauty of the gun world is you can like more then one kind. One of my 45's is a custom Norinco custom full tilt 45 and it rocks. I also have a 25-2 and I really like it but I would never give up my two 1911 Government's whether one is a clone or not.

Not sure. I bought them for $35 at a gunshow and really enjoy them.
